BLESSED (2006)
VARNISHED ULTRACHROME ON PANEL
22 X 26 INCHES
EDITION OF 1

“I paint pictures of the human soul... that alluring
image of the hidden part of ourselves... some call
them ghosts or spirits but I see them as the image
of who we truly are, made manifest with all the
objects and bruises that filled the story of each life.
Like a wonderful old book you find that captures
you with the mystery of the main character you read
the beginning and fall under its spell and become
unaware of the real nature of reality because you
are absorbed by the story till its end. I figure that's
what life is and if you cherished a piece of music or
an old jewelry box or favorite chair they become
part of your soul just as you leave a part of yourself
in those objects when you leave this world... next
time your in an antique shop... quiet your mind and
you will hear all the voices embedded in all of those
old things... you will hear them singing to you.”

Dawn Black

"My drawings not only explore my own mania
regarding disguised and surrogate identity but
of society’s at large by depicting scenes of
carefully selected concealed figures drawn in
gouache and ink on paper." Dawn Black

"In dreamstates, Linda has detailed visions
in color of her creations. In oil she is able
to capture these scenes on canvas with a
unique style and representation of wildlife.
Although she has not had any formal training,
through the years she has been able to create
her own look that she calls "Wildlife Fantasy"."

Allen Jones

"Jones's preference was for glamour and style,
and his aesthetic centred on beautiful women
visualised erotically and stereotypically as in
glossy magazines, advertisements and cartoon
strips. Underpinned with a great mastery of colour
and a consummate painting technique, Jones's
work fluctuates between painting and sculpture."
